About us

We made the switch to cruelty-free beauty years ago — and the first thing we noticed was how hard it was to find good information.

The ethical beauty space is full of marketing that overpromises, labels that mislead, and certifications that vary wildly in their standards. Our founding team spent years developing the expertise to navigate it — reading ingredient lists, investigating supply chains, understanding the difference between certified cruelty-free and self-declared cruelty-free, and testing products across hair types to evaluate whether ethical credentials came with genuine performance.

This site is the result of that work.

We are beauty researchers, ethical beauty advocates, and hair care enthusiasts who refuse to accept the premise that you have to choose between your values and your results. The cruelty-free and vegan hair market has advanced enormously, and the best products in it are genuinely excellent. We want every reader to have access to those products — with the confidence that comes from verified information.

Our certification analysis goes deeper than most. We contact brands directly, investigate parent company ownership (because a cruelty-free brand owned by a non-cruelty-free corporation requires more scrutiny), and keep our brand assessments updated as ownership and certification status changes.

We are an independent editorial site with no brand sponsorships and no affiliate relationships that influence our assessments. We write for the reader, not for the industry.

Ethical beauty is not a compromise. We prove that, product by product, every day.
